Frequently Asked Questions
How Often Should I Renew My License?
For license renewals, Commercial, Noncommercial, Certified and Private applicators must be renewed annually.
Private – 15 CEUs
2 credits in laws and regulations and 2 credits in integrated pest management (IPM).
Agricultural Commercial/Noncommercial – 5 CEUs
1 credit each from 2 of the following categories: laws and regulations, integrated pest management or drift minimization.
Structural Certified Applicators – 3 CEUs (minimum)
2 general and 1 in each category in which the applicator is certified.
1 general CEU must be in federal and state laws, pesticide safety, environmental protection or integrated pest management.
When Is The License Renewal Date?
In Texas, pesticide licenses are renewed by the end of the license renewal period.
What If I Am A Private Applicator?
Licensed private applicators are required to re-certify every five years by obtaining 15 continuing education credits, including two (2) credits in laws and regulations and two (2) credits in integrated pest management (IPM), prior to expiration of the license.
What If I Am A Structural Applicator?
Structural Applicators: Each certified structural applicator is required to obtain two (2) units in general training and one (1) unit in each category in which the applicator is certified.
Of the two (2) general training units required for recertification, at least one (1) must be in federal and state laws, pesticide safety, environmental protection, or integrated pest management. The other may be in any general topic. No approved course may be repeated for credit within the same recertification year. The Texas Dept. of Agriculture allows Structural Applicators to take 1 or all CEU’s online every other year.
How Do I Receive My Certificate?
You can print out your certificate as soon as you finish the Pest Control course. Additionally, once your course has been completed, we’ll handle sending the State Board a report. No hassle, no fuss!
