This professional development hour equips engineers with the skills to assess and mitigate risks in projects, covering operational, financial, environmental, and cybersecurity risks. Participants will explore risk assessment methodologies, emergency preparedness, disaster mitigation strategies, and business continuity planning. Key topics include crisis management, legal compliance, and emerging technologies such as AI and IoT in risk management. Real-life case studies will illustrate practical applications, ensuring engineers can integrate risk assessment into their projects effectively.

CE Required:

A license as a professional engineer, a licensee shall be required to complete 30 professional development hours (PDHs) relevant to the practice of professional engineering.

For each renewal cycle, a licensee must obtain 30 hours of professional development that meets the requirements listed in Section 1380.325 (a) and (c) of the rules for the administration of the professional engineering practice act. There are three (3) core hours and twenty-seven (27) elective hours.

The core hours are: 1) A minimum of one hour of sexual harassment prevention training. 2) A minimum of one hour of programs, courses, or activities in the area of Illinois statutes and rules that regulate professional engineers and professional engineering. 3) A minimum of one hour of programs, courses, or activities in the area of professional conduct and/or ethics.

The Division shall not pre-approve individual courses or programs.
