The purpose of this course is to fulfill the required 2 hours in ethics continuing education for funeral directors and embalmers licensed in the state of Texas. This course discusses the formal definition of ethics as well as a description of the wide area that ethics can apply. Parts of the Texas Administrative Code concerning ethics are included. The Texas Funeral Directors Association Manual of Ethics is included in the course. The issue of conflict of interests is discussed with an article concerning the conflict of interest between the coroner, medical examiner and funeral director/mortician.
