This is a combined course approved for 16 hours of continuing education for New Mexico Electricians annual renewal.  This course will expires May 16, 2011.

The purpose of this course is to satisfy the continuing education requirements for licensed electricians in New Mexico. This course covers 3 main topics in the area of safety: Laws, Electrical Safety, and tool safety. This course will cover the laws that govern electricians and certain NEC standards that impact their work. This course also includes safety information for working with and around electricity in the construction industry as well as any worksite that has electricity. This course emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, and control. In the area of tools topics such as proper safety techniques and personal protective equipment are identified. The importance of operating any tool with safe practices is emphasized. Also, reviews the changes made to the 2005 NEC and compares those changes with the 2002 NEC.
