The purpose of this course is to satisfy 8-hours of the continuing education requirements for licensed Master Electricians and 8-hours of the 16 required for Journeyman electricians in Alaska.  *We will soon have the remaining 8-hours for Journeyman electrician.*

This course covers 3 main topics in the area of safety: Laws, Electrical Safety, and tool safety. This course will cover the laws that govern electricians and certain NEC standards that impact their work.

This course also includes safety information for working with and around electricity in the construction industry as well as any worksite that has electricity. This course emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, and control. In the area of tools topics such as proper safety techniques and personal protective equipment are identified.

The importance of operating any tool with safe practices is emphasized.
